A recent study from Scientific American came concluded that comprehension is higher when people read text printed on paper vs. digital medium such as computer, iPad or e-book.
Human brains are more receptive to text on paper and we experience less fatigue and eye strain from paper than screens. This understanding is not new with studies going as far back as the late 1980s all with the same or similar results. But with new generations growing up with advancing technology what does all this mean? It creates an interesting situation as technology continues to improve and emulate the text on paper experience but will it ever be as good as “real paper”?
